MASENIC seeks an analog/mixed-signal IC layout engineer for its growing team in the Barcelona office.

Your primary responsibilities

You will be responsible for the physical implementation and detailed layout of analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits for image sensors. You will receive circuit schematics and requirements such as transistor matching or block size from other microelectronic circuit engineers in our team and you will be responsible for delivering fully verified (DRC, ERC, LVS) block within the agreed schedule.

Depending on the experience of the selected candidate, you will also be responsible for the integration, top-level verification and tape-out to the foundry of mixed-signal CMOS chips.

Skills and education requirements

Ideally you should have a recent Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics, Telecommunications Engineering, Physics or a related discipline and be interested in pursuing a long-term career in analog mixed/signal IC layout and IC physical implementation. You should have most of the following skills and experience:

• Good fundamental understanding of electronic circuits, both analog and digital.
• Knowledge of microelectronic technology;
• Custom IC layout experience using tools like Cadence Virtuoso or Synopsys Custom Compiler (we will also consider complex PCB layouts as relevant experience);
• Experience working with Linux (command line and text editors);
• Good at 2D and 3D mental visualization;
• Fast learning of new software tools and GUIs;
• Have great attention to detail and be able to add order to complex and undefined situations;
• Able to work independently and to deliver quality work according to project schedules;
• Very good team player: take ownership of assigned tasks, seek help when required and have an inclination to help others;
• Able to take and give constructive criticism.
