During the training you will learn from the basics of PIC design, to mask layout and circuit simulation. The training is suited for companies or research institutions that want to start a Photonic Integrated project or for those that already have a basic knowledge and want to improve their design skills, as well as individuals.

To make the training accessible to academics, we offer a 25% discount to researchers and students.

At the same time,  VLC Photonics S. L. is organizing a PIC Design Contest. All participants in the contest will have the opportunity to fabricate their designs with a substantial discount at the CNM Foundry. Moreover, the winner will get a 1.000€ cash prize or can get the design fabricated for free. In addition to that, if he or she has already participated in a previous VLC Photonics PIC Design Training in 2019, the participations fees will be reimbursed.

To participate, submit your 5.5×5.5 mm design according to the latest version of the design manual of the foundry (and Process Design Kit if needed), by filling out the application form before January 25th, 2019.
